Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Narayan Rane on Monday took a swipe at Harshvardhan Sapkal, arguing that he was appointed as state president of Congress to sink the party.

Reacting to statement made by Sapkal about Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in which he (Sapkal) compared Fadnavis with Aurangzeb, Rane took a harsh view of Sapkal's criticism of Fadnavis and said, "Sapkal is a fool. Everyone knows what people say about Aurangzeb in Maharashtra. It is not right to talk about Chief Minister Fadnavis with the analogy of Aurangzeb. Sapkal does not know the issues in the state.

"This man does not know anything. This person was not appointed to grow the party, but to sink the party," he added.

Notably, the Congress state chief had made a comparison of Fadnavis with Aurangzeb, saying that Aurangzeb was a cruel ruler, Devendra Fadnavis is equally cruel.
