Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) In a surprising development on occasion of Holi festival, the opposition Congress party in Maharashtra on Friday made a prospective offer of the Chief Minister's post to the two Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, who have been jockeying for position for a while after the assembly election.
While making this offer, senior Congress leader and MLA Nana Patole said that both Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar should remain vigilant.
While wishing these two leaders on Holi, Patole said, "We are with them. We are taking a stand regarding their security. They should come to us. We will support them."
Apparently, there is a constant tussle over the Chief Minister's post in the state. Becoming the CM is everyone's dream. After the 2024 assembly elections, news of Shinde's displeasure over not getting the CM's post again had come to the fore. Similarly, Ajit Pawar has also openly expressed his desire to become the CM.
Meanwhile, responding to Patole's offer, Shinde said "those who like the saffron colour and can afford it should come with us. The saffron colour is of Hindutva, Sanatan Dharma and is a universal colour. This saffron colour does not hate anyone. It does not deceive anyone. It takes everyone with it."
