Imphal, Jan 20 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh expressed the need for all the indigenous communities residing in the State to live together peacefully, maintaining an understanding amongst one another. He continued that we should remember how our forefathers safeguarded our motherland together from external forces.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the inaugural program of the Diamond Jubilee cum VIIIth Biennial Sports Meet, 2025 of the All Maring Sports Association (AMSA) held at the AMSA Sports Complex, Laiching Kangshang Village, Machi Sub-Division, Tengnoupal District on Monday . The event was organized under the theme "Legacy of Yesterday, Champion of Tomorrow".
Singh further stated that different indigenous communities had been living together, safeguarding the land since time immemorial. He recalled that the poison put on the tip of the Arambai weapon, used while driving out the Burmese (Awa) during the Seven Years Devastation Period, was provided by the Maring community. All such stories could be heard in folktales, he added.
