Mathura Mosque-Temple issue: SC upholds Allahabad HC decision on impleading rights

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday upheld a decision of the Allahabad High Court which allowed impleading of the Central government and ASI in the case related to the Mathura Krishna Janambhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute.
The bench, comprising Chief Justice of India Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice K V Viswanathan, told the Management Committee of Idgah Mosque that the decision of the Allahabad High Court appeared prima facie correct.
The top court was hearing an appeal by the Mosque Committee against the High Court order of March 5, 2025, which allowed the Hindu side to amend their petition and add the Union of India and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as parties to the case.
