Mizoram: Two kids drown in village pond

Aizawl, Apr 22 (UNI) Two young boys tragically drowned in a village pond at Saiphai Banglaveng in Kolasib district, northern Mizoram, around 4:00 pm today, police said.
The victims have been identified as Reuben Vanlalpeka (5), son of Zorampianga, and Mesak Lalnunthara (6), son of Thangseia.
According to sources from the Saiphai police outpost, a group of children had gone to the pond to swim. The two boys, who reportedly could not swim well, were swept into deeper waters.
By the time adults arrived at the scene, the children had already drowned, the police said.
