MP: Two siblings commit suicide in Shahdol

Shahdol, May 7 (UNI) Two children from the same family committed suicide by jumping into a well in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Wedneday.

Police sources said that three siblings attempted to end their lives by jumping into a well in their field in Bansukali village under the Sidhhi police station.

The deceased have been identified as Anju Baiga (15), the elder sister, and Ritesh Baiga (9), while their brother Mazhilia Baiga (12) was rescued by neighbours and admitted to Jayasinghnagar hospital.

The police conducted post-mortem examinations in the morning and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The children were orphaned after their parents passed away within a year, and it is believed that this might have contributed to their desperate act. UNI XC AKT SSP
