Bhubaneswar, Apr 10 (UNI) Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda will launch the historic Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, and Ayushman Vayobandana Yojana for Odisha at the Baliyatra Ground in Cuttack on Friday.
According to Odisha BJP sources, Nadda will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport around 1 PM on Friday, from where he will proceed to Cuttack to inaugurate the schemes.
Around 3.5 crore people in Odisha are expected to benefit from these schemes.
The Union Health Minister will also inaugurate the new building of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Pediatrics in Cuttack. He is also scheduled to visit CIPET and AIIMS Medical College in Bhubaneswar.
Nadda is scheduled to formally inaugurate a training program for the state’s MPs and MLAs in Puri on April 12, said Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal.
Speaking to the media, Samal said that many people had been deprived of healthcare under the current system, as the previous government was providing free medical services in only 978 hospitals.
After the launch of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the state, Odia people both within and outside Odisha will be able to access free quality healthcare. According to Samal, the services will be available in 29,000 hospitals across the country.
He added that under the Ayushman Vayobandana Yojana, senior citizens aged 70 and above will receive services without any eligibility criteria.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, individual health cards will be issued to each beneficiary instead of one card per family.
The ‘MLA and MP Training’ program in Puri will be held from the evening of April 11 to April 13, with Nadda formally inaugurating the event on the morning of April 12.
Samal said the training camp will focus on organizational and administrative skills, ideological orientation, and implementation strategies.
