Sensex surges 105.71  pts

Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) The BSE sensex on Wednesday recovered 105.71 pts to close at 80,746.78 following gains in Auto, Realty and Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services stocks amid strong Asian Market.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 34.80 pts at 24,414.40.

The day opened on a weak note, as the BSE sensex crashed 693 pts at 79,948.80 after India air strikes on terror camps. It was further lost 704 pts at 79,937.48 days low.

In late trade, it erased earlier losses and finished at 80,746.78, rising 105.71, pts from its previous close.

The Nifty registered days high at 24,449.60

and low at 24,220.00 pts.

Stocks that boost the market were Auto, Realty and Consumer Discretionary Goods and services stocks.

Auto was up by 1.74 pc followed by Realty by 1.12 pc and Consumer Discretionary Goods and services by 1.21 pc.

The Mid cap jumped by 1.36 pc and Small cap by 1 16 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16 advanced, 13 declined while one was unchanged.

The gainers were Tata Motors by 5.20 pc to Rs 681.50, Bajaj Finance by 2.02 pc to Rs 8975, Eternal by 1.63 pc to Rs 236.40 and Adani Ports by 1.41 pc to Rs 1339.

The losers were Asian paints by 4 pc to Rs 2321.35, Sun Pharma by 1.95 pc to Rs 1783.35, ITC by 1.30 pc to Rs 430 and Nestle India Ltd by 1.06 pc to Rs 2330.

Though, US Market and European market were in rec. Asian Market was up, as Strait Times rose by 0.13 pc, Taiwan Weighted by 0.12 pc and Set Composite by 2.66 pc.

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) India’s retail inflation eased to a nearly six-year low of 3.16 per cent in April, driven by a sharp decline in food prices, particularly vegetables, pulses and meat. According to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on Monday, food inflation dropped to 1.78 per cent, the lowest since October 2021, from 2.69 per cent in March — a sharp decline of 91 basis points.
