Rupee up 16 paise against USD

Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) The Rupee on Monday advanced 16 paise at 86.84 against the USD in the opening session on the selling of fresh dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex market said.

The local unit rallied in early trade owing to the weak dollar against other world currencies.

The rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 86.11 and 86.19, respectively, the dealer added.
