Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday jumped 274 pts at 74,104 in the opening session on the strength of auto, bankex and capital goods stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 97 pts at 22,494.37.
The equity market, which was red in the last two sessions, recovered in opening trade as the Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 74,376.35 and 73,796.06 pts, respectively.
The Nifty registered a day's high and low at 22,577.03 and 22,353.15 pts, respectively.
The Mid cap rose by 0.73 pc and small cap by 0.66 pc.
In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 declined.
The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 3.10 pc to Rs 692.95, Bajaj Finserv by 1.98 pc to Rs 1842.75, M&M by 1.83 pc to Rs 2691.75 and Zomato by 1.76 pc to Rs 204.95.
The losers were Nestle India Ltd by 1.24 pc to Rs 2164.60, Asian Paints by 0.90 pc to Rs 2210.95, Power Grid by 0.82 pc to Rs 265.40 and Reliance Industries by 0.58 pc to Rs 1240.20.
