Sensex rises over 100 pts

Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained strong on the third straight session on Wednesday, advancing 172 pts to open at 75,473.17 on the strength of power, realty and telecommunications stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 39 .50 pts at 22,873.80.

Registering huge gains over 1000 pts on Tuesday, the equity market opened strong at 75,473.17 pts. The Sensex registered an intraday high at 75,473.69 and a low at 75,201.48 pts.

The Nifty registered a day's high at 22,888.30 and a low at 22,807.95 pts.

The stocks maintained their rally intact because of stocks like power, realty, telecommunications and utilities stocks.

The mid cap rose by 1.14 and the small cap by 1.40 pc.

In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.

The gainers were Zomato by 2.50 pc to Rs 223.80, Tata Steel by 2.26 pc to Rs 158.15, Bajaj Finance by 2.15 pc to Rs 8866.25 and NTPC by 1.50 pc to Rs 342.45.

The losers were TCS by 2 pc to Rs 3481.70, Infosys by 1.79 pc to Rs 1579.95, HCL Technology by 1.60 pc to Rs 1533.55 and Tech Mahindra by 1.59 pc to Rs 1408.35.
