Dr AK Panda takes over as Director (Finance) of SAIL

New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Dr Ashok Kumar Panda has taken over as Director (Finance) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

In a statement issued here today, SAIL said that Dr Panda took charge on April 30. Dr. Panda started his career as a Management Trainee in SAIL in 1992. During his career, Dr. Panda has worked in various capacities at various Plants and Units of SAIL.

Widely known for his financial and technical knowledge and proactive approach, Dr. Panda also has expertise in areas ranging from financial accounting, cost and budgeting, business planning, treasury operations, taxation and strategic management.

During his tenure, Dr. Panda has been instrumental in strengthening the financial position of SAIL, including deleveraging efforts, cost optimisation, rail pricing strategy, real estate sales policy, tax optimisation, e-invoicing implementation in SAIL units to enhance transparency and efficiency, and introduction of digital invoicing.

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Dr. Panda has served as a nominee director on the boards of several joint ventures and subsidiaries of SAIL, further strengthening the financial governance of the company.

Apart from his achievements in the field of finance, he has also made significant contributions in the areas of mining, plant operations, projects etc., for which he has received awards like Jawahar Award for Excellence in Cost Management – 2012.
