Rupee drops by 24 paise to 86.24 against US dollar

Mumbai, June 17 (UNI) The Rupee on Tuesday depreciated by 24 paise to close at 86.24, a two month low against the US dollar, on strong dollar demand by bankers and importers, as crude price rose amid rising geopolitical tensions.
The currency opened 5 paise up at 86.01 against the dollar. It closed the previous session at 86.06.
The partially convertible rupee recorded intra-day high and low at 85.88 and 86.28 respectively, dealers added.
