Telangana Govt strengthens ease of doing business

Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) A high-level delegation from the Government of India, led by Sukrithi Likhi and officials from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), held a meeting with senior officials of the Telangana state government at the Secretariat on Friday.
The discussions focused on reducing compliance burdens and deregulation to enhance the ease of doing business.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari highlighted Telangana’s leadership in implementing business-friendly reforms.
She emphasised that the state is at the forefront of breaking barriers to create an enabling environment for accelerated growth and development. While reforms have already improved business operations, the current focus is on enhancing the quality and reducing the cost of doing business.
Initiatives like Build Now, which expedites building plan approvals, and Bhu Bharathi, aimed at efficient land administration, have been implemented to streamline processes. The policies of the Telangana government have received strong appreciation from the industry and business sectors and are supported by strict monitoring mechanisms.
Santhi Kumari also raised concerns over lengthy and cumbersome procedures for forest clearances, which she said act as a stumbling block for developmental projects. While she acknowledged the importance of forest and wildlife conservation, she stressed that overly restrictive policies lead to project delays and time overruns.
Ms Sukrithi Likhi commended Telangana for its progressive reforms that have placed the state among the top performers in ease of doing business. She noted Telangana’s achievements in areas such as the GIS database for industrial land availability, elimination of floor area ratio for industrial and commercial plots, third-party empanelment for building approvals and joint inspections, and streamlined processes for factory trade licenses, occupancy certifications, electricity, and water connections. While praising these efforts, she also pointed out that further improvements could be made and encouraged the state to continue its work towards a more business-friendly environment.
The meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan and Ravi Gupta, PCCF Dobriyal, Principal Secretary MAUD Danakishore, DG Fire Services Nagi Reddy, Principal Secretary Labour Sanjay Kumar, CDMA T K Sridevi, and other senior officials, an official statement.
