Lucknow, Apr 14 (UNI) Both Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made changes to their lineups for today's IPL 2025 clash at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
CSK won the toss and opted to field first, a decision influenced by the expected dew conditions later in the game, which MS Dhoni highlighted as a factor that could impact the second innings.
LSG made one change to their squad, with Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh coming in for Himmat Singh, strengthening their middle order. Captain Rishabh Pant expressed confidence, emphasising that their strategy was to deny CSK any early advantage, focusing on playing good cricket and giving their best effort.
CSK also made two changes, with Jamie Overton and Rashid Khan coming in for Ravichandran Ashwin and Devon Conway. Dhoni, in his pre-match remarks, acknowledged the unwavering support from the fans and stressed the importance of playing with the right mindset.
Despite some batting inconsistencies, he remains optimistic, believing their strong bowling attack will carry them through and that their batting will soon find its rhythm.
Both teams will be looking for a strong start, with CSK aiming to make the most of the conditions and LSG looking to capitalise on Marsh's inclusion in their lineup.
