Congress stages protest before ED office in Patna

Patna, Apr 16 (UNI) Congress leaders on Wednesday staged protest before the office of Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Patna and criticised Narendra Modi government for misusing it against top party leaders.
Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) President Rajesh Ram, in-charge of party affairs of Bihar Krishna Allaveru and leader of Congress Legislative Party in Bihar assembly Shakeel Ahmad Khan led protest march from Income Tax round-about to ED office here and staged dharna there.
Leaders and workers raised anti-Narendra Modi government slogans criticising for misusing ED and other central agencies against top Congress leaders to harass them.
Allaveru said that ED had lodged cases of money laundering against 190 leaders of the country and most of them were political opponents of BJP. Proceedings of the ED against those leaders were either completely stopped or put in back burner after they joined BJP, he added.
"Narendra Modi government has failed on all fronts during its 11 years of tenure and central agencies are being misused to divert attention of the people from real issues ", the Congress leader said, adding that people could not be silenced on burning issues of unemployment and price rise by misusing central agencies against opposition leaders.
"Action of ED against top party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in National Herald case, is an attempt of Narendra Modi government to weaken Grand Alliance in Bihar in election year", Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Rajesh Ram said.
Forcing top Congress leaders to sit for longer duration in the name of interrogation in offices of Central agencies, was an attempt to harass them by Narendra Modi government, he alleged.
