One killed, several injured as protest against Rail Line Project turns violent in Rourkela

Bhubaneswar, Apr 19 (UNI) A protest against a rail line project of the Rourkela Steel Plant turned violent on Saturday, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to several others, including police personnel and government officials.
A group of local residents had been opposing the rail line project connecting to the Rourkela Steel Plant. During the demonstration, a youth identified as Yeto Ekka (37) was crushed to death when a JCB machine ran over him.
The incident triggered chaos, and the aggrieved villagers clashed with the police and district officials who were present at the site to supervise the work.
