Itanagar, Apr 20 (UNI) In a solemn yet proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, the State Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik on Sunday virtually inaugurated a War Memorial at Longding in honour of Lance Naik Agoi Wangsa, Shaurya Chakra (posthumous), a valiant son of the state who laid down his life during a counter-insurgency operation in Punjab in 1992.
Paying heartfelt tributes, Governor Parnaik said, “The Indian Army, the State, and the Nation salute the unmatched bravery and sacrifice of Lance Naik Agoi Wangsa.” He also lauded the strength and resilience of Veer Nari, Koiman Wangsa, the late soldier’s wife, and assured the family of continued support from the state administration.
Reflecting on the heroism of L/Nk Agoi Wangsa, Parnaik described the inauguration as both a solemn and proud moment, marking a powerful tribute to the bravery of those who laid down their lives in defence of the nation. He noted that the War Memorial serves not only as a monument of remembrance but also as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.
