Over Rs 2000 crore investment in food processing units, 10000 such units functional

Patna, Mar 17 (UNI) Bihar Industry Minister Nitish Mishra said that more than Rs 2000 crore has been invested in Food processing industry in the state where 10000 such units were established under specific scheme.
While replying to a starred question of Manohar Prasad Singh during pre lunch sitting in the state assembly on Monday, Mishra said that after covid special scheme was prepared under the guidance of the Prime Minister to promote food processing industry. He said more than 10000 units of food processing units where covered under this scheme and over Rs 2000 crore were invested under the policy in Bihar.
The Minister said that Bihar government was preparing a new policy for establishing food processing industry in all areas and to attract the new investors in this sector.
He said the government provide subsidy and incentives under the provisions to the investors and also unleash conducive atmosphere for establishing industries.
Replying to the supplementries of Singh, the Minister said that three food processing units were already functional in Katihar and Finance clearance have been given to 3 more such unit. He further informed that 10 food processing units have been given stage one clearance.
