Tripura govt takes initiative to relocate fenced-out families: Chief Minister

Agartala, April 1 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday informed the state assembly that the state government has taken the initiative to relocate the families who have been residing outside the barbed wire fencing due to the erection of zero line fencing in a few locations along the Bangladesh border.
Responding to a query of Congress legislator Sudip Roybarman, Chief Minister said, “As many as 31 fenced out families in Kamalasagar area of Sepahijala district have been sanctioned houses under the PMAY scheme inside the fencing, and 25 of them have built the house but still reside outside the wire fencing.”
He said many hold dual citizenship in India and Bangladesh, which was under investigation by security agencies. Most of the households in Pandavpur and Fultali Gram Panchayats of the locality were tapping electricity illegally, and only 17 families have so far been identified as having an electricity connection, Dr Saha stated.
