Bengal: Speaker suspends BJP MLA Monoj Oraon for disrupting proceedings of Assembly

Kolkata, June 16 (UNI) West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee on Monday suspended BJP legislator Monoj Oraon for a day from the assembly for allegedly disrupting the proceedings of the House during Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s speech on SC/ST reservations, where she accused the Centre of discriminating against Bengal in fund allocation.
Chaos erupted in the House as BJP MLAs raised a loud uproar, leading to the suspension of the BJP MLA from Kumargram in North Bengal.
In response, BJP members staged a walkout and sat in demonstration on the steps of the assembly building, placing a tulsi plant in front of them.
