Toyota Kirloskar donates JCBs to boost disaster response in Mizoram

Aizawl, Apr 21 (UNI) Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited on Monday handed over two JCB machines to the Government of Mizoram to support road safety and disaster management efforts. The symbolic key handover took place at the Chief Minister's Conference Hall, followed by a brief programme.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who received the equipment on behalf of the state, expressed gratitude to the company. “We are thankful to receive this very useful equipment to aid in disaster management. These machines will be of great help,” he said.
He also acknowledged Toyota’s continued support to the state—ranging from traffic management in Aizawl to their involvement in cultural events like Chapchar Kut.
Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President and Country Head of Toyota Kirloskar, said that while natural disasters cannot always be prevented, the donation aims to enhance preparedness and mitigation. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Mizoram under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
A Memorandum of Agreement regarding the deployment of the two machines was also presented to the Chief Minister during the event.
Gulati was accompanied by Roshan R, General Manager, other staff members, and representatives from their local dealership, Zote Toyota. The Chief Minister was joined by Commissioner and Secretary to the CM, Vanlaldina Fanai.
The two JCBs will be managed by the District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) of Aizawl and Serchhip. Upon receiving the equipment, Aizawl DC Lalhriatpuia and Serchhip DC Paul L. Khuma, who chair their respective DDMAs, offered brief remarks.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Aizawl Traffic) Stephen Lalrinawma and Smart City Limited CEO C.C. Lalchhuangkima also highlighted Toyota Kirloskar’s support in developing Aizawl’s Integrated Control & Command Centre, another key CSR initiative.
