Rajesh Kumar appointed president of Bihar Congress

Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) Congress high command on Tuesday appointed party MLA Rajesh Kumar as new president of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) before state Assembly elections to be held in October November this year.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge appointed Kumar as new president of BPCC to strengthen the organisation before state assembly elections. Kumar will replace incumbent BPCC president Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh who is Rajya Sabha MP of the party from Bihar.
Move of Congress high command is being seen as calculated step of the party to consolidate dalit votes in next state assembly elections. Kumar is a dalit leader and party MP from Kutumba assembly constituency in Aurangabad district of Bihar.
