Tripura court remanded 7 job seekers to jail for proxy and cheating in exam

Agartala, Feb 18 (UNI) A local court on Tuesday sent altogether seven persons to 12 days of judicial custody for impersonating job seekers and adopting unfair means in the recruitment exam in Tripura (Central) University for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) on Sunday.
Accused were included one from Bihar, two from Rajasthan, two from Haryana, and two from West Bengal. Police initially detained them from the exam hall based on the complaints from the university authority and later after prima facie charges were established all of them were arrested.
Officer-in-Charge of Amtali Police Station of the city Himadri Sarkar said two accused persons identified as Pankaj Kumar hails from Bihar and Ram Bir Meena from Rajasthan were found writing exams on behalf of others while Mrinmoy Biswas, Liton Biswas, Mitan Mondal, Rajbir Singh, and Rahul Kumar were found cheating using electronic devices.
