Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje visits Khawzawl, reviews central schemes and local initiatives

Aizawl, May 7 (UNI) Union Minister of State for MSME and Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje on Tuesday visited Khawzawl district, where she reviewed the implementation of key central schemes and interacted with officials and beneficiaries during her day-long tour.
Landing at Mualvawm Helipad around 10 a.m., the Minister was welcomed by Khawzawl Deputy Commissioner K. Vanlalthiana and senior district officials. She proceeded to the DC’s office, where she held discussions with heads of departments on flagship programmes including PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, MGNREGA, PM-KISAN, and the Jal Jeevan Mission.
A PowerPoint presentation was delivered by SDO (Sadar) Suvigya S. Chandra, showcasing the district’s progress and departmental achievements. During the interaction, the Union Minister stressed the need for commitment and integrity in public service delivery, urging officials to avoid corruption, nepotism, and other malpractices. She said good governance was essential to improving the standard of living for people in the district.
