No irregularities in tender for smart prepaid metres in Bihar: Minister

Patna, Mar 19 (UNI) Bihar Energy Minister Vijender Prasad Yadav on Wednesday strongly refuted the charge of irregularities in tenders awarded for procurement of smart prepaid meters.
Yadav while replying to debate on budgetary demand of his department for financial year 2025-26 in the Assembly said the charges of irregularities levelled by the opposition in awarding tenders for procurement of smart prepaid meters being installed in Bihar, had "no basis at all". Tender process of smart prepaid metres was challenged in Patna High Court and Supreme Court, where the process of awarding tenders was found in accordance with rules and regulations, he added.
The Minister said there was no point in raising the issue, as it had already been settled in Patna High Court and the same was confirmed by the Supreme Court. There was no reason for the Opposition to talk about Sanjeev Hans, the then Chairman of Bihar State Electricity Board, he remarked.
