Odisha:Man sentenced to 20 years RI ,Rs.50,000 fine for raping a minor girl

Kendrapara, Mar 21 (UNI) The Additional District & Sessions Judge on Friday convicted a 39-year old person and sentenced him to undergo 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment along with a fine amount of Rs 50,000 for his involvement in raping a 14-year old girl.
Special Public Prosecutor Manoj Kumar Sahoo, said Sanjay Giri, of Ananta Keshari village under Talachua Marine Police station, was sentenced to 20 years RI and a fine of Rs.50,000 for his involvement in the rape case.
The victim’s mother lodged an FIR at Talachua Marine Police station on April 28, 2022 alleging that taking advantage of her absence, Sanjay Giri on April,24,2022 outraged the modesty of her minor daughter and sexually abused her.
