Arunachal: Mrs Siang 2025 winners appointed brand ambassadors for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Itanagar, Apr 22 (UNI) In a significant step towards strengthening drug demand reduction efforts, the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department, East Siang district, has under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) appointed the Mrs Siang 2025 beauty pageant winner and runners-up as Brand Ambassadors for the campaign under the Scheme of SJETA, East Siang for the year 2025-2026.
In this regard, the department has successfully organized a one-day drug demand reduction awareness programme at the Observation cum Special Home, Pasighat on Tuesday, marking the launch of various awareness activities under NMBA for 2025–2026, officials said.
Deputy Director (ICDS) cum Nodal Officer (NMBA) M Gao highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse, including mental health challenges, serious long-term health consequences, increased cancer risks, and family and social disruptions. She commended the local NGOs, including Bedum Situng, for their continued efforts to eradicate the drug menace in society.
Mrs Siang 2025 winner Jenny Pinggam Gaduk, along with 1st runner-up Amoni Diru Pullom, and 2nd runner-up Bisonty Lego Tayeng, encouraged the inmates of the Child Care Institution (CCI) to reject drugs and lead a healthy life. They also appealed to the community for collective action to make East Siang and Arunachal Pradesh drug-free.
