Opposition falsely trying to take credit of caste census : JD(U)

Patna, May 1 (UNI) JD(U) on Thursday said opposition parties were falsely and forcibly trying to take credit of caste census while in reality, it was Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who had shown the way by conducting caste census in the state and Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to conduct it at the National level.
Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary told media persons here that Kumar had been raising demand for caste census since long. In Bihar, caste census was successfully carried out under leadership of Kumar and it formed the basis to go for national level caste census, he added.
"When a resolution was passed unanimously in both houses of Bihar legislature urging the Centre for national level caste census, NDA government led by Chief Minister Kumar was in power in 2021 ", Chaudhary said, adding that NDA was in power when decision was taken to conduct caste census in Bihar in 2022.
