Odissi dance performance by Madhulita Mohapatra on Mar 23

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 18 (UNI) Renowned Odissi dancer, Madhulita Mohapatra and her Odissi dance troupe, 'Nrityantar Dance Ensemble' from Bengaluru, will present an enthralling Odissi dance performance, ‘Mystical Movements, An Odissi Dance Experience’ at Ranga Kala Kendram (Centre for Performing Arts) at 6 PM on March 23.
This specially curated performance brings together the rich and lyrical beauty of Odissi, seamlessly blending intricate footwork, graceful movements, and evocative expressions.
Featuring a selection of exquisite Odissi pieces, the presentation will offer a deeply immersive experience, celebrating the elegance and timeless charm of this classical dance form.
A recipient of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi, Madhulita Mohapatra has been widely recognised as one of the leading Odissi exponents of the present younger generation, a release said on Tuesday.
She has been honoured with numerous accolades, including the IIW She Inspires Award 2024 at the UK Parliament, the Devi Award 2024 by The New Indian Express, and the Kempegowda Award, for her invaluable contributions to the field of dance.
An ‘A’ grade artiste of National Doordarshan (DD National) and an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), she has performed at premier dance festivals across India and abroad, including the Konark Festival, Mukteshwar Festival, Dhauli Mahotsav, Taj Mahotsav & the Bengaluru International Arts Festival, among others.
Admired for her deeply expressive abhinaya, technical brilliance, and innovative choreographic skills, Madhulita Mohapatra’s choreographies are known for their aesthetic depth, fluid storytelling, and captivating stagecraft.
Under her guidance, the Nrityantar Dance Ensemble has enthralled audiences at major art festivals across the country and overseas with their finesse and artistic excellence.
