Black Sabbath original lineup visits commemorative mural in Birmingham ahead of final show

London, June 29 (UNI) The original lineup of the legendary English heavy metal band, Black Sabbath, visited a mural in their hometown of Birmingham, made in their honour ahead of their July five 'Back To The Beginning' concert in the city, reports Metal Hammer.

On social media, the band uploaded a photo showcasing singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward posing alongside the mural, with Iommi also posting photos from the visit on his own channels. They also added their signatures to the artwork.

Made by an artist named Mr Murals, the 120ft tribute artwork features the faces of all four of the band members along with their iconic logo from their third album ‘Master of Reality’ from 1971.

A caption posted alongside the photo on Sabbath's Instagram page reads: "We made the trip to the mural. Only 1 week until Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow."

In his own post, Iommi wrote: "Hasn’t Mr Murals been busy! Very flattered to be honoured in such a creative way, thank you Birmingham!"

'Back To The Beginning' will mark the final concert of both Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, and as such is the band’s sendoff show.

The mega-concert in England will feature a plethora of seminal metal and hard rock bands which include Metallica, Tool, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Guns N Roses, Lamb Of God, Gojira, Anthrax, Slayer, as well as by former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar.

It will also feature an all-star-supergroup performance, with the lineup being composed of former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, Korn singer Johnathan Davis, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, among others.
