London/New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today held productive talks with his UK counterpart David Lammy, during which they also discussed the Bangladesh situation, and the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
In posts on X, the EAM said that they also discussed the FTA negotiations which have recently been re-launched.

“We discussed the entire gamut of bilateral ties, especially our focus on strategic coordination, political cooperation, trade deal negotiation, education, technology, mobility and people-to-people exchanges.
“Agreed to formulate the next steps to further strengthen and structure them.
“We exchanged views on regional and global issues including the Ukraine conflict, West Asia, Bangladesh and the Commonwealth.
“In an uncertain and volatile world, India-UK ties contribute to stability and prosperity.”
The UK Foreign Secretary in a post, thanked EAM Jaishankar:
“Thank you @DrSJaishankar, for being my first official guest at Chevening.
“We’re building a new era in Great Britain-India relations, from FTA negotiations last week to discussions on growth, security and foreign policy today.
“Our partnership makes our people safer and more prosperous.”
The talks between the two ministers comes ahead of the opening of two new Indian consulates in Belfast and Manchester, boosting regional economic ties and delivering on the growth agenda.
The development comes as the UK welcomes Indian investment deals worth more than pounds 100 million, which is creating jobs, strengthening growth, and helping working people by putting more money in their pockets, a British High Commission statement said.
