EAM meets Deputy PM and FM of Moldova, FM of Liechtenstein

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Moldova Mihai Popșoi and with the Foreign Minister of Liechtenstein Dominique Hasler here today.
In a post on X, the EAM wrote that India and Moldova signed a MoU on agriculture cooperation.
“A good meeting with DPM & FM @MihaiPopsoi of Moldova.
“Discussed advancement of our bilateral and multilateral relations. Today’s signing of MoU on agriculture will further enhance our cooperation.”
On his meeting with the Liechtenstein FM Dominique Hasler, he wrote that they discussed the progress of the TEPA agreement and the Ukraine situation.
“Very pleased to meet FM @DominiqueHasler of Liechtenstein this morning.
“Discussed the progress of TEPA, our cooperation in the UN and the Ukraine situation.”
In March 2024, India had signed a Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States – Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
The TEPA agreement was signed following 21 rounds of negotiations since 2008, and promises enhanced cooperation in trade, investment promotion, intellectual property, and sustainable development, and better integrated and more resilient supply chains.
Liechtenstein is the fourth-smallest state in Europe and lies in the centre of the Alps, between Switzerland and Austria. It is the sixth-smallest country in the world.
On Tuesday, the Moldovan Deputy PM and FM held a meeting with the Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, for boosting investments and connectivity.
In a post, the Moldovan leader said:
“Had a productive meeting with Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, India’s Minister of Civil Aviation.
“We discussed advancing an aviation agreement between #Moldova and #India to boost investments and connectivity. Looking forward to strengthening our bilateral ties!”
Moldova is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, on the northeastern corner of the Balkans.
