Johannesburg/New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and conveyed India’s support for South Africa’s G20 priorities, on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Johannesburg today.
The EAM also met with his Ethiopian counterpart Gedion Timotheos, and interacted as part of a group with his counterparts from other countries, including Australia’s Penny Wong, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov and China’s Wang Yi.
In posts on X, he wrote:
“Honored to call on President @CyrilRamaphosa of South Africa on the sidelines of the G20 FMM in Johannesburg.
“Conveyed the warm greetings of Prime Minister @narendramodi. Assured India’s support for South Africa’s G20 priorities.”
On his meeting with the Ethiopian FM Gedion Timotheos, he wrote:
“Good to meet Ethiopian FM Gedion Timotheos of Ethiopia.
“Congratulated him on his appointment. And agreed to work together to strengthen our longstanding partnership.”
