New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 8 pm tonight and is expected to speak on the recent developments related to Operation Sindoor.

This will be the first public comments by the Prime Minister ever since Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to target terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

India launched Operation Sindoor to avenge the massacre of 26 tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

Under the operation, aerial strikes were carried out at nine major terror camps in Pakistan and POJK, run by Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen in places like Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sialkot (Pakistan) and Muzaffarabad and Kotli in POJK.

Pakistan responded by carrying out drone attacks at civilian and military areas in India, provoking a war-like situation.

However, the two countries came to a ceasefire agreement on May 10.
