Mahakumbh symbol of unity in diversity: PM Modi

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed the successful completion of Mahakumbh, saying, "Unity in diversity is India's specialty, and we witnessed this on a grand scale in Prayagraj."
Addressing the Lok Sabha, the prime minister said, "Today, when the entire world is going through challenging times, the grand show of this unity is our great strength."
He further added, "We have always said that unity in diversity is India's speciality, and we witnessed this on a grand scale in Prayagraj. Our responsibility is to continue enriching this speciality of unity in diversity."
He lauded the massive preparations and seamless execution of the grand religious congregation, which witnessed participation from millions of devotees, saints, and tourists from across the globe.
“I bow to crores of people of the country who contributed to the success of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj,” PM Narendra Modi said, adding that Prayagraj Mahakumbh reflects the spirit of rising India.
The prime minister, who himself took a holy dip in the Sangam, said people set aside their egos and, with the spirit of selflessness embracing the philosophy of "not me, but we", gathered in Prayagraj.
“They became a part of the sacred Triveni. There was no distinction between big and small,” Modi said.
Speaking about other initiatives at the Maha Kumbh, PM Modi said, "Mahakumbh has given a lot of inspiration. We have many big or large rivers, some of which are endangered. Inspired by the Kumbh, we should expand 'Nadi Utsav'. This will teach the importance of water conservation to the new generation."
Thanking people on the successful completion of Maha Kumbh, the prime minister said, "I bow down to crores of countrymen, due to whom the Maha Kumbh was organised successfully."
"Many people have contributed to the success of the Maha Kumbh. I congratulate all the Karmayogis of the government and the society. I thank the devotees from all over the country, the people of UP, especially the people of Prayagraj," he said.
