PM Modi meets DNI Tulsi Gabbard, discusses further advancing India-US strategic ties

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi exchanged views on further advancing the India-US strategic partnership during his meeting with visiting US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard here today.
In a post on X, the PM said both nations are committed to combating terrorism and enhancing maritime and cyber security cooperation.
“Glad to welcome @TulsiGabbard to India. Exchanged views on further advancing the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. Both countries are committed to combating terrorism and enhancing maritime and cyber security cooperation.”
The Prime Minister also presented Tulsi Gabbard, a practising Hindu, with a vase containing Gangajal from the recently concluded Prayagraj Maha Kumbh.
In comments to the Official Rapid Response account of the Trump 47 White House, Gabbard said on the India-US ties:
“What I have heard from the Indian government officials I've spoken to over the last few days, there is opportunity here to see more potential for strengthening of our economic relationship...And I’m glad to see that they are looking at it in a more positive way…
“Obviously Prime Minister Modi is looking at what is in the best interest of India’s economy, and the opportunities available for the people of India; similarly President Trump is doing the same for the United States, our economic interests, and the interests of the American people.
“So, what I see as a great positive, is that we have two leaders who have common sense and who are looking for good solutions. This direct dialogue is happening at the very top in both of our countries and also at the different secretary and cabinet members, is going to be key to laying down what that path forward really looks like.
“And I personally am excited because there is keen interest in the private sector in India and in the US, to seek out those opportunities and to maximise them.”
On her meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Intelligence agency heads, Gabbard said, "...The meetings I've had here are set on this foundation (joint vision of US President Trump and PM Modi) on how we can continue to integrate and strengthen.”
She also met with EAM S Jaishankar, who posted on X:
“Delighted to meet US DNI @TulsiGabbard this evening.
“A useful exchange on contemporary global and regional security challenges.”
