Cong lauds armed forces for bold action against terrorist bases in Pakistan, PoK

New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Congress on Wednesday gave its full support to the Indian armed forces for taking bold action against the terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under 'Operation Sindoor'.



Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had convened an emergency informal meeting which was attended by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders to discuss the current security situation.



Talking to the media after the meeting here, Kharge said, “We are proud of our Indian Armed Forces who have given a befitting reply by taking bold action against the terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK under 'Operation Sindoor'.



He said that from the day of the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam, the Congress party had “unequivocally stood in solidarity with the armed forces and the Government” and supported every decisive action against cross-border terrorism.



Kharge said, “India's national policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and Pakistan- occupied Kashmir is clear and unwavering. There is a great need for unity at all levels to protect the national unity and integrity of the country.”



Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said that they had a discussion in the working committee meeting and the party extended its full support to the armed forces.



"We extend our complete support from the Congress party and the Congress Working Committee," Rahul added.
