Nostalgia to rule Delhi roads at The Statesman Vintage & Classic Car Rally Sunday

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Timeless automotive beauties will hit the roads of the national capital and drive through the city’s landmarks, as the much-awaited The Statesman Vintage & Classic Car Rally takes place on Sunday, March 2.
It will be a nostalgic day for history lovers and auto enthusiasts as they soak in the charm of the aesthetically restored vintage and classic cars of various make and from different eras.
The annual rally, which has through the decades become a headline event in Delhi’s calendar, is set to start with a colourful flag-off ceremony at 10 a.m. from The Statesman House on Barakhamba Road here.

Taking the spectators on a time travel into the past, the cars will go past various iconic spots of the city, which itself is steeped in history but simultaneously embraces modernity.
The rally will end at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at India Gate, where the prize distribution ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The cars taking part in the rally have been classified into four categories: Vintage Cars, Classic Cars, Post-War Cars, and Others, showcasing a varied and enthralling collection of road queens..
The pre-judging of the vehicles taking part in the event will be done over two days -February 28, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and March 1, 9-30 a.m. to 5 p.m.- at Modern School, Barakhamba Road

The winners will be presented awards recognising the finest restorations, originality and elegance of the cars.
The rally every year draws a large number of spectators, who line both sides of the streets to spend some magical but fleeting moments with marquee automotives which once ruled the roads in various parts of the globe. Coming Sunday, surely, will be no exception.
