Shahjahanpur, Feb 13 (UNI) Four persons, including three women, were killed and 16 others injured when a mini bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck at Kalan area in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Thursday.
Circle Officer (CO) Jalalabad Amit Chaurasia said that the truck and the mini-bus collided head-on near Bichaula village on Farrukhabad state highway late on Wednesday night.
"While two women identified as Shyamvati (60) and Sharmila (26) were killed on the spot in the incident and 18 others were injured," he said.
He said that 20 people were travelling in the bus, all of whom were going to Haryana from Sitapur to work as labourers. "18 injured were admitted to Farrukhabad district hospital for treatment, where Lavkush (30) and Ram Kumari (35) succumbed to their injuries.
The injured are residents of Sitapur, Hardoi and Lakhimpur districts in the state," the CO said.
