UP: Two killed as tractor trolley overturns in Badaun

Badaun (UP), Apr 17 (UNI) Two persons were killed and three injured when a tractor trolley overturned in Kotwali Dataganj Kotwali area of Badaun district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police said here.

Inspector of Kotwali Dataganj, Gaurav Bishnoi said that at around 4 am, Babuji's wife Reena, a resident of village Beni Nagla, was brought to Community Health Centre from Fatehganj West by a tractor from Raju Lala's kiln due to labour pain.

He said that the inc incident took place when Babuji along with five others were returning to the village after admitting the pregnant woman, "On the way, the tractor suddenly went out of control and overturned near the government school of Dhilwari village, in which Sukhpal, Rakesh, Manoj, Babuji and Bablu were injured," he said.

The Inspector said that the injured were brought to the Primary Health Center Dataganj where doctors declared Sukhpal (21) and Rakesh (22) dead and the other three injured were referred to the district hospital Badaun.

He said that all the injured and the deceased lived together and worked at the kiln of Raju Lala in Fatehganj West. "From there, they came to the village at night with the tractor of Lala, the owner of the kiln," he said.

Srinagar, Apr 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau has unearthed a major corruption in the dredging of the flood spill channel of the Hokersar wetland- a Ramsar-designated wetland of international importance on Srinagar outskirts.
The dredging project was initiated to enhance the flood-carrying capacity of the spill channel in the aftermath of the devastating 2014 floods, aiming to mitigate future flood risks in Srinagar. Known as the “Queen of Wetlands,” Hokersar plays a critical ecological role and is home to numerous migratory bird species.
