Couple with their three-month-old infant killed in Chhattisgarh road accident

Ambikapur, May 2 (UNI) A couple and their three-month-old infant were killed when a speeding car rammed into the bike they were riding, on National Highway-43 in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.
The bike riders, Sunil Lakra (35), Asmatiya (28), and their three-month-old child, were traveling from Petla, Damgara, in the Sitapur police station area, to Ambikapur for medical treatment for the child's pneumonia.
The car, driven by Santosh Paikra, a resident of Amatoli, crashed into the bike and then rammed into a house compound.
The couple and their child died on the spot. The car occupants were also injured and admitted to the Community Health Centre in Sitapur.
The bodies of the deceased have been identified, and the police are investigating the incident. The accident occurred on the Ambikapur-Raigarh main road, and the authorities have taken the injured car occupants for treatment.
