Amritsar, Feb 19 (UNI) In an intelligence-based operation, Punjab police apprehended an alleged drug smuggler with links to a Pakistani criminal and recovered 10 kilos of heroin valued at Rs 70 crore from the border district of Amritsar, a top officer said on Wednesday.
State Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said Harmandeep Singh was nabbed from Mahal village in the distric.
Yadav said on X that the arrested accused was constantly in touch with Pakistan-based smuggler Chacha Bawa, who sent Heroin via drones in the Attari sector for further distribution.
He also said that an FIR has been registered, with further investigation underway to identify others associated with the accused. UNI GS SSP
