Five injured in scuffle at Golden Temple premises, 1 critical

Amritsar, Mar 14 (UNI) At least five people were injured, one critically, following an alleged scuffle within the Golden Temple premises here on Friday.
The incident occurred at the Shri Guru Ramdas Sarai, a lodging facility for pilgrims, where an assailant attacked people with an iron rod.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar told reporters, "At Sri Darbar Sahib Complex, a man was noticed by worker Jasbir Singh on the second floor. When asked to come down, he refused. Jasbir Singh then approached him again, upon which the man grabbed an iron rod and attacked him. Later, other workers gathered and overpowered the man. In the scuffle, several individuals, including SGPC workers, sustained injuries."
The attacker, identified as Zulfan, a resident of Yamuna Nagar in Haryana, was later handed over to the police by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
"An FIR has been registered, and we have arrested him. His family informed us that he had arrived in Amritsar three days ago and had some personal conflict with his relatives. Investigations are underway," Bhullar added.
The injured were transported to Guru Ramdas Hospital, operated by the SGPC. Dr Jasmeet Singh stated that one patient is in serious condition and has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
"This patient received stitches and will undergo a CT scan once stabilized. The other four individuals are in stable condition," he said.
Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and prevent future occurrences.
