Police arrest youth for rape of his minor cousin in Amroha

Amroha (UP), Apr 19 (UNI) A 20-year-old youth was arrested by the police on Saturday for sexually assaulting his 10-year-old cousin sister in Hasanpur area of Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand said that the youth, a resident of a village in Hasanpur police station area, raped his cousin. "The incident took place late on Friday evening. Based on the complaint of the family, a case has been registered under relevant sections. The accused youth has been arrested by the police. Further legal action is underway," he said.
Police sources said that during strong winds and storm on Friday evening, the youth took his cousin from home to the forest on the pretext of putting tarpaulin on the straw lying in the field. "It is alleged that the youth took the teenager to the forest and raped her," they said.
