HP: Cyber frauds dupe 12,000 victims of Rs 114 cr

Shimla, March 4 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Cyber Crime Cell has reported approximately 12,000 cases of online fraud, with victims losing a staggering Rs 114 crore.
The agency has successfully recovered Rs 15 crore for the affected individuals, marking a significant achievement in its fight against cybercrime. For its exemplary efforts, the Cyber Crime Cell was honoUred with the prestigious Skoch Award 2024.
The CY Station Data Centre, operating under the Cyber Crime Cell, has been at the forefront of addressing cyber fraud. The centre, which functions 24/7, received 1,10,794 calls related to cybercrime in 2024 alone. Of these, 19% were from women, and 2% were from children.
