J&K: Brief exchange of fire between terrorists, SFs in Kishtwar, operation on

Jammu, July 2 (UNI) There was a brief exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, Army said.
“Based on specific intelligence a joint search operation was underway in Kanzal Mandu in Kishtwar,” Army said in a post on X.
It further said that a contact was established with the terrorists and operations are in progress.
Sources, however, added that the terrorists fired upon the search party, which was retaliated and a gunfight started.
“The firing lasted for around half-an-hour,” they said, adding that the operation is in progress.
Earlier on June 24 a joint team of police, army and paramilitary troops launched search operations in Kishtwar district.
A search operation was launched in the Marwan area of Kishtwar.
“There were inputs about the movement of suspects following which the searches were carried out in the remote belts of Marwan,” they added. UNI VBH SSP
