HP: Ex MLA Bambar Thakur firing incident; One accused detained

Bilaspur (HP), Mar 15 (UNI) Police have detained one of the accused involved in the firing incident at the residence of former Congress MLA Bambar Thakur.
According to SHO Sadar Harnam Singh, the detained individual ferried four assailants to the crime scene. Based on crucial information, police are now tracking the remaining attackers.
Thakur, his PSO Sanjeev Kumar, and supporter Vishal Sharma are reported stable. The attack, which took place while Thakur was celebrating Holi, left him with a gunshot wound to the thigh. His PSO sustained injuries to his leg, back, and thigh, while Vishal Sharma was wounded while trying to rescue him.
A manhunt was launched immediately after the incident. CCTV footage from Thakur’s apartment complex in Bilaspur surfaced on social media, showing four armed men entering the premises, surrounded by parked SUVs. They shot Thakur at close range before fleeing unharmed. Shockingly, Thakur attempted to chase the attackers despite his injury.
