Govt should take strict action against culprits of Fatehpur triple murder: Mayawati

Lucknow, April 9 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo on Wednesday described the murder of three members of a farmer family in Fatehpur district here in Uttar Pradesh as a weakness in law and order and said the government should take strict legal action against the culprits and provide justice to the victim's family.
Taking to X, Mayawati wrote, "People are being exploited and harassed on every small issue in UP every day, under which recently three Kshatriya/Thakurs and a Dalit person from the same farmer family of Fatehpur district have been murdered, due to which there is a lot of panic among the people there."
She said, "The government should take strict legal action against the culprits and provide timely justice to the victim's family and also pay special attention to improving the law and order."

ACB unearths major corruption in dredging project at Ramsar-designated wetland

Srinagar, Apr 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau has unearthed a major corruption in the dredging of the flood spill channel of the Hokersar wetland- a Ramsar-designated wetland of international importance on Srinagar outskirts.
The dredging project was initiated to enhance the flood-carrying capacity of the spill channel in the aftermath of the devastating 2014 floods, aiming to mitigate future flood risks in Srinagar. Known as the “Queen of Wetlands,” Hokersar plays a critical ecological role and is home to numerous migratory bird species.
