Rae Bareli (UP), Apr 29 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and MP from Rae Bareli Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday inaugurated a two mw solar roof power plant at Visakha Factory in Kundanganj.

He also unveiled the statue of leader Subhash Chandra Bose at Civil Lines.

The administration had made tight security arrangements for Rahul. The police administration was keeping a proper watch on his convoy.

He talked about 'inclusive development' and appealed to take everyone along.

After that he left for the Disha meeting at Bachat Bhawan at Collectorate. Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma was also present with him as well as Minister of State in Uttar Pradesh government Dinesh Pratap Singh were also present.

During the meeting, various schemes including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), National Rural Livelihood Mission, PM Awas Yojana, Gram Sadak Yojana, National Social Assistance Programme, Swachh Bharat Mission, National Rural Drinking Water Program, Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Mid Day Meal Scheme, Integrated Child Development Programme were discussed and reviewed.

Sources said during the meeting Rahul called on women helpline number 181, which was received immediately and the MP expressed satisfaction when he spoke to the working personnel.

At the end of the meeting, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Uttar Pradesh Dinesh Pratap Singh proposed to observe two minutes of silence to express condolences to the victims of the tragic incident that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Coming out of the meeting of Disha, Dinesh Pratap Singh attacked Rahul Gandhi and said that he comes to Rae Bareli for a picnic. He said that the meeting of 'Disha' is a continuous process which is organised for the supervision and monitoring of the schemes funded by the central government.

He accused Rahul Gandhi that he comes to these meetings to remain in the news. But he is not available to the general public. He does not even answer the questions of the journalists.

After the meeting, Rahul went to inspect the Rail Coach Factory located in Lalganj and meeting with Congress workers is also a part of his tour.

It may be noted that this is a two-day tour of the Leader of Opposition, during which he will stay at Bhuye Mau Guest House in Rae Bareli and then leave for his former parliamentary constituency Amethi and then back to Delhi on Wednesday.
